Responsible mining
Responsible mining built into daily operations
Responsible mining is not a separate policy at Great Lakes Gold Resources. It is part of how each field shift is planned, supervised, and reviewed, from environmental controls to workplace safety and compliance with local statutory requirements.
Our site teams work within the statutory frameworks of each country where we operate, and they treat environmental controls and safety standards as operating conditions rather than reporting exercises.
Field programs
Practices guiding site work
Three areas where day-to-day programs shape how land, water, and communities are managed around our operations.
Land rehabilitation
Disturbed ground is planned for progressive reclamation, with rehabilitation considered from the start of each site's development rather than after closure.
Closed-circuit water management
Process water is recirculated within controlled circuits where practicable, with tailings handled under systematic monitoring and containment controls.
Community economic engagement
We work with local workforces and regional stakeholders through training programmes and transparent consultation on matters that affect nearby communities.
Operating standard
Responsible resource development, measured on site
Our standard is simple to state and demanding to keep: develop resources responsibly, track performance transparently, and apply health and safety discipline consistently across every location where we work.
